A federal judge in Florida has just struck down the CDC mandate for masking on public transportation, including planes. While an appeal is likely, this is a serious shot across the bow for future CDC endeavors as the main complaint here is overreach. As in the case with the CDC's implementation of a moratorium on evictions, the court found that this government entity does not have the power it purports to.

This is a summary judgment vacating the mandate, not a temporary injunction. I think that means the order's done unless a higher court reverses on appeal.
The CDC does not give a shit about the law or the courts. I'd bet good money that Wallensky, or some other totalitarian sycophant, will be on CNN in mere moments stating that "the mandate must continue, for the safety of airline travel." ...or some similar B.S. Biden will back them up, if he can find the podium without help.
