Masks has turned almost everyone into an “enforcer” at their place of employment. The amount of people to whom this “power” has gone to their heads is telling. Peppa Pig has an episode where the teacher asks each of the children what they want to be when they grow up and they all have a different field but the reason is the same “to tell people what to do.” Covid has given many people’s empty lives some meaning. Ignore them and they flip out. For those that must fly, I understand compliance. Everywhere else, these people need to be ignored. Use the self checkout line, have cash and leave it on the counter if they refuse to serve you. Make them call 911 on the criminal who paid for their merchandise. They key is to remain calm. I know that is a big ask. But the calmer you are, the madder they get. DO NOT COMPLY!
flight attendants who are miltiant maskholes, appear to be "those" who were not paid attention to as children. Maybe they should go get some therapy.... We arent interested in their aggression, or their opinion. Masks are useless, virtue signaling, garbage piling nonsense...

Our superstitions come at a huge cost. I flew from Denver to Portland in October, with all the nonstop warnings about masks from flight attendants. Yet when we took off, there was no instruction to raise our windows, which has been a long-standing FAA safety requirement. (If there is a crash, the flight crew needs to see out in order to direct an evacuation.) I flew so much over the years that when we began to pick up speed with all the shades down, my internal alarms went off, even though I'd never given a moment's thought to the shades-up rule before.
I can't count how many times I've heard a person say, after getting COVID, "I can't believe it; I did everything right." The next thing they say is that they always wore a mask. It's not true, since no one wears a mask at home, where transmission occurs, but it's true in the sense that they did what Don Lemon and Fauci wanted them to do, which is wear one while walking through doorways or at a grocery store—anywhere they can be seen by the most people. Everyone who said this, in my experience, believes the headlines and leans blue. They had no idea how the virus transmits.
We have traded actual safety for superstition and performative safety. After all the mask announcements and policing, flight attendants have no time or energy left to focus on the things that save lives. Fauci remains popular on TV because he talks about masks and lockdowns and vaccinations and hand-washing, yet never once about sunlight, moving air, weight loss, or anything else that would help people mitigate risk.
The airplane arbitrariness is one reason (along with hating to be surrounded by masked people) I've avoided mass transport since this all started. You don't know whether you'll be trapped next to a lockdown scold or hounded by the stewardesses throughout the flight, as AJ was.
It's heartening to hear that the people at the helm of this are a mixed bag politically. That's so desperately needed.
I do wonder and worry about whether or not we are really winning on the vaccine mandate front. Of course, the 5th circuit decisions are absolutely a step in the right direction, but there are people affected by mandates for federal employees, federal contractors, and private businesses who support the Administration, and since those are outside the scope of the OSHA rule, I wonder if those will ever get pared back and what kind of lasting cultural damage they've done.

I’ve been living in Spain for a year and although it’s no Sweden, I fear going back to Mexico during a probable “winter surge” that might inflame mass hysteria again. It’s like some people got stuck in the spring or summer of 2020 and are not willing to look outside of their bubble and see data from around the world. Just whichever stories their acquaintances and MSM say. It’s very frustrating trying to picture myself living among that vibe.
I don't think any of us truly understand what is at stake, what may be required of us in this fight, how long we will have to fight, or what we may lose in the process.
