I'd wager most governments have had access to highly detailed records of any and all conversations, communication, and especially digital activity we have been part of for decades at this point.
Why would we be shocked? We've known they are gathering every call, every email, every tweet, every FB post, every DM in their black facilities, buildings with no addresses since they were revealed back in the early 2000's!
There's one in NYC, a large blackened highrise bldg with no address and a sprawling complex out in Nevada that was being built during Obama's first term that called attention to them. I'm sure there are more around the country. They are storage for all the records of phone calls, emails, tweets, FB posts, DM's etc., made by American citizens. You may remember that some of the staff was accessing personal information of people they knew and getting into trouble about it...that also was in the news at the time.
I am sure the government has a hidden camera in your toilet. They cannot go for a minute without knowing what you are up to. That's is how full of fear these arrogant psychos really are. They are beyond afraid that their corruption and deceit will be discovered.
